Robert Kramers
I have been a bass player since the age
of 16. Before that I played
guitar. I came to play the bass in the traditional manner, the
bass
player in my band at the time stopped coming and because we could not
find anyone else I had a go and the rest is history.
I have been playing with lots of bands since the age of 16 and have
been taught by prominent Dutch bass players such as: Arnold Dooyeweerd,
Eric Calmes, Sven Schuster, Jopie Tetterissa, Arjan Ferweda and Martin
Zandscholten.
16 Years ago I started my own ‘bass teaching career’. I
am also the
co founder of the Music Education Centre in Amsterdam where I was the
organiser and bass teacher.
The combination of my knowledge of music theory and the techniques of
the bass guitar as well as my live performances on stage form the basis
of my lessons.
Besides my teaching I often play with different bands at concerts,
about 100 times a year with such bands as Jam Square, The 4 Dimes,
Lemon and The Nyman Band.
Beside these activities I also am a free lance bass player. Because
of
my wide experience in many different musical styles, I can be useful
in
a wide range of musical performances and shows.
